2016 SUMMER YOUTH CAMP APPLICATION:
GENERAL INFORMATION

After School Programs boost knowledge, self-esteem and lead to better grades, test scores, & opportunities. Most importantly, After School Programs offer a safe and fun environment for students.
More about our program:
¨ After School Services run throughout the Academic School Year and include homework assistance and tutoring.
¨ Hours of operation are 3 p.m.- 6 p.m.
¨ After School Center is open during winter break and spring break during the hours of 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
¨ Participating youth have access to a computer lab, games, books, atlases and encyclopedias, an enclosed basketball court and play area as well as occasional field trips (some field trips may require a fee).
¨ We also host enrichment opportunities throughout the school year in partnership with NEOMED’s HPAC, KSU’s and The University of Akron’s experiential learning and service programs.
¨ Youth participants are encouraged to develop community service projects, area clean-ups, peer group role-play that includes conflict resolution and promotes positive social interaction.
¨ The Youth and Family Afterschool Center is operated by Community Action Council of Portage County.
¨ Our goal is to engage our youth and encourage community involvement for the benefit of all.
¨ There is no charge for participating in After School services.
¨ All Day Summer Camp available to youth ages 5-15 (fee required; contact us for details)
