Click The Community Action Council of Portage County is continuing to accept appointments for emergency assistance under the Home Energy Assistance Program Winter Crisis Program. To schedule an appointment you can call CAC at 330-297-1456 option #1. The automated appointment system will walk you through making an appointment. Appointments book very quickly during our Winter Crisis program. New appointments are made available at 12am (midnight) each business day.

Main Street are on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings. The doors open at 8:00am and we see the first 24 customers who have all of the necessary documentation. We also have walk-ins at our HEAP Satellite Centers located in Kent, Garrettsville, Ravenna, Atwater, and Windham.
Households who are eligible may receive up to $175 on their regulated utility bill, up to $450 for wood/pellets, and/or up to $750 for propane or fuel oil.
